At boob buddies, we offer a range of services to help and support children and adults affected by cancer..

Individual Counselling

If the support service is oncology counselling, when we’re together, great emphasis is placed on the importance of conserving energy, both physical and emotional: the energy required to get through the day. Hence, to save physical energy, the venue where the counselling takes place is always at the client’s discretion. Regardless of location choice, we always provide a safe, trusting, and friendly environment where people can explore their thoughts and talk about what’s on their minds.

boob buddies also offers counselling to children and adults who are coming to the end of life, their respective family members, and carers. These services extend into the period of bereavement if required.

Group Therapy

Group therapy sessions are offered, as being with other people who are experiencing similar issues can help to ‘normalise’ the predicament for people.  The sessions run for approximately 2 hours, (morning or afternoon tea included), and are limited to no more than 9 participants…limiting the numbers of participants ensures that everyone has time in which to express their individual concerns.

Oncology Psychotherapy Workshops

boob buddies oncology psychotherapy workshops are predominantly offered to other professionals who are currently providing grief and loss counselling to cancer patients and/or their family members or carers, or who are considering doing so in the future.  The intent and purpose of our workshops is to enhance the knowledge of the participants by providing them with an insight into the benefits of Barb’s particular modality of Oncology Psychotherapy.

In addition to the above, Oncology Psychotherapy workshops are also offered to all individuals in the community who have an interest in supporting children and adults affected by cancer.
